Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also referred to as Ashanti, was born on the 13th of October on the 13th of October, 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is a United States singer, songwriter, and actress. Ashanti began her career as a teenager, she was signed by Murder Inc. Records by 2002. That that same year, she was featured on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? The Fat Joe's What's Luv and Foolish? First female artist to make it into the Billboard Hot 100's second and third positions within the United States, with Foolish at number one, and What's Luv? It was the first female artist to have both the Top two spots on the American Billboard Hot 100 With Foolish as number one and the other being What's Loving? You can assist her in celebrating this memorable day. Ashanti Shequoiya is better known as Ashanti is a native of New Yorker who was born in Glen Cove on 13 October, 1980. Tina Douglas' mother was an instructor in dance as was Ken-Kaide Douglas. The parent of Ashanti Douglas, was a vocalist. She is the eldest and she has a Kenashia Shia who's her younger sister. Douglas has named her Ashanti after Ghana's Ashanti Empire in which women held power and had influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to follow this paradigm. James her father was a leader in civil rights who worked with Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. Ashanti's mother stumbled upon her talent by overhearing her singing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti made an appearance as an extra for a child for Spike Lee's Malcolm X (released in 1992) and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? She also had a few cameos in music videos including K.R.S.-Act One's MC's don't know and the 8-Off's Ghetto Girl. Even after she was approached by various label owners such as Bad Boy or Jive, Ashanti was not able to make it being an artist. However, she continued to play in and around New York and began hanging around at The Murder Inc. recording studio hoping to get a major break. Ashanti began as a back-up vocalist for Big Pun's track"How We Roll. Also, she appeared in the song by Fat Joe "What's Luv?" Ja Rule's "Always on Time" as well as Fat Joe's What's Luv! The debut single Foolish contains a cover of DeBarge's 1983 song Stay with Me. Ashanti has released her debut self-titled album in 2002 via Irv Goti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration is Ashanti's forth studio album. The album was released on Murder Inc. on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on 16 October 2009. She was a part of the movies Christmas in the City as and Army Wives. Aitch has sampled Rock wit U in his Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
